How do I keep bees from swarming the trash can that I recycle aluminum cans in ?

Bees keep getting in the trash can in which I recycle aluminum cans. This makes it impossible for me to recycle the cans without getting stung. I usually just give up and throw the aluminum cans away. Is there any way to keep the bees out of the container that I recycle my cans in? I am open to all suggestions. How do I keep bees from swarming the trash can that I recycle aluminum cans in ?
Rinse out the cans or put them in plastic bags or get a cover for the

can they come for the sweetness of the soda!!How do I keep bees from swarming the trash can that I recycle aluminum cans in ?
Bees are attracted to sugars. Soda pop cans, beer cans, etc. Make sure before you recycle the cans rinse them out really good and dry them really good. Keep them in a garbage bad or plastic bag and close it tight so the bees can't get inside the bag or cans. If this does not work then i recommend spraying around and on the trash can with bee repellent or wasp repellent.
Are they really bees? Maybe it's wasps...

Pretty sure the insects get attracted by the rests in the cans.

Rinse the cans good before you trash them. Empty the container as often as possible. Wash out the container after emptying it.

Is there any way you can cover the container with a solid lid?
I agree with the other posted answers before your problem. You just have to work out on it. Try to rinse first the cans before putting it to the bin and be sure to empty it. Every now and then you need also to wash and rinse the trash can where you put on the cans. Lastly its very important to seal your bin with a tight fitting so that insects of all kinds will not visit it.

Bees, wasps, and hornets are all attracted to the sugary remains in the cans. Rinsing helps but the pests are also interested in the water residue. Still, rinse the cans and put them in a container with a tight fitting lid. That should keep the insects at bay.
They are after the sugar that is left in the cans, if you are talking about soda cans. Make sure you thoroughly rinse them out before putting them in the can. You can also use a trash bag to hold your aluminum cans and tie them up. Good luck.
Peppermint oil. Bounce fabric softener sheets. 2 parts Orange oil and 1 part water. Rub on wooden things only.
spray those bees with bug spray
