What influences have the disappearance of bees had?

so far on our environment %26amp; what are some influences could they have on the future?

As i was running away from a wasp in my front yard today, i realized i have not seen one bee during Spring so far, not even at my mother in laws, who loves to take care of her small garden %26amp; plants. What influences have the disappearance of bees had?
Bees are the pollinators of many of the fruits, nuts and vegetables we eat. Food shortages would be the main influence. Right now here in California..prices on nuts such as almonds have soared due to the disappearance of bees. What influences have the disappearance of bees had?
There is allot online about it. Bee keepers and orchard growers have big concerns. The bees polonise the flowers for our fruits we eat. We could live with out dandelions and goldenrod, but once the bees are to scarce to allow the fruit to be produced then well . . .
There has been a lot of concern regarding the disappearance of thousands of bees. They are vital to many of our crops. Without the bees to pollinate them many will not grow. The cause of the problem is still undiscovered.
I've heard of local avocado growers having reduced crops due to the honeybee shortage, in Southern California...
