Why do bees only seem to bug me during the day?

Once it gets dark they no longer hang around. Where do they go and what are they doing at night? Why do bees only seem to bug me during the day?
Bees rest in their hives at night. Many insects become less active once the sun goes down, as they need the warmth of the sun to give them energy, so they rest at night and get up with the sun.

Also, since bees feed on the pollen from flowers, firstly, they would find it hard to find flowers in the dark, as they rely on visual cues to find the flowers and the pollen within, and of course, many flowers fold up at night, so there would be less available to harvest. Why do bees only seem to bug me during the day?
