A Yahoo search for ';bee care'; (include the quotation marks in the search box) yields 926 results. If you do the same search, and are willing to spend a little time exploring, I'm sure that you will quickly find the information you seek.

Good luck with your search.When is the best time to start treating honey bees with medications to keep mites,beetles, and other types of?
KLU!!! You just stated in my question about sunflowers attracting bees..... I spraied for bees, and you just went off on me for killing other insects and animals, but here you tell them to kill mites and beetles! You said and I quote....

';Not only have you likely poisoned ALL the insects that have visited since but ALSO the other animals. If one is SOOO worried about bees and insects then one should abandon gardening, fore without these animals gardening is futile and meaningless!

YES I AM BEING HARSH!!!!

As a Beekeeper, HORTICULTURIST, biologist, and scientist, I find this attitude, REGARDLESS of allergies, REPULSIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...';

So next time you want to give addvice about killing other insects, or animals, I would make sure you are not being a jerk to others!

So if you ever find yourself being attacked by a bear, I'll make sure no one kills the bear in fear of being REPULSIVE!
Spring is the best time, when they start to fly again.
Treatments for mites and bacterial pests are best begun in the spring BEFORE the honey flow begins and re-treatment in the fall after the honey flow has ended and the honey harvested. This prevents contamination of the honey that is intended for human consumption.

The only ';treatment'; for beetles in the Hood SHB Trap, available from Brushy Mountain, http://www.beeequipment.com/. There will be more research released later in the year on the effectiveness of the traps and what is the best attractant to use in them.
