We have found bees inside the post our mailbox sits on. What kind are these? How do we get rid of them?

There are many kinds of bees, so without a description, no one can say.

It is especially important not to kill bees. They are in short supply. Just leave them alone----they won't bother anyone if they aren't harrassed. Your daily visits to the mailbox won't concern them at all. They will likely leave once it gets cold.We have found bees inside the post our mailbox sits on. What kind are these? Bees are in short supply but if you live in the killer bee area be very careful and call your local authorities because they can kill you. They usually spray them with foamy dish soap. That will kill them by the way. If you are further north, I would do what ever to not kill them. It seems our pesticides are killing all the bees by stopping them from reproducing and we can't live without them. It's serious so call for the appropriate help that will do the right thing. You may want to see if you have any beekeepers in your area that are interested and, at least, they can give you some professional ideas of what and how to take care of your problem. Or email some online. . .good luck.
