It comes on my deck and chews on the deck making a vertical line and then leaves. Its not making a home on the deck. It just looks like its eating it. There are no holes just lots of lines on the wood. I just want to know what it is? If I should be concerned about my deck and do they sting?What is this bug? Perhaps some kind of paper wasp. These build their nests of a paper-like substance they produce by ingesting small amounts of wood, then chewing and mixing with saliva.
